This 2-hour course blends video instruction, readings, and activities to give you the confidence and experience you need to effectively teach with fraction tiles and number lines. The course is asynchronous and can be completed wherever and whenever you want!
You will take away specific teaching ideas, plenty of hands-on practice, and activities to use with your students.
Purchase this course individually or as part of our three- and six-course bundles.
Fraction tiles and number lines provide students with visual tools to support their understanding of fraction concepts. In this course you will learn how to use physical or virtual fraction tiles to model a variety of fraction concepts with students. Throughout, you will learn how to make the connection between the fraction tile manipulatives and the number line.
In this two-hour course you will learn how these fraction manipulatives can be used to reinforce key concepts:
• Equivalent Fractions
• Fraction Comparison
• Adding and Subtracting Fractions
The course combines videos and activities using hands-on or virtual manipulatives. In addition, free activities are included that you can use right away!
